Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Little Rock, Ark.-based CHI St. Vincent, under Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health, are nearing their Sept. 1 contracting deadline without an agreement.

On Sept. 1, CHI St. Vincent — including its four hospitals, 80 medical clinics and more than 300 providers — could leave all provider networks for Arkansas BCBS members.

Arkansas BCBS told Becker’s it has been engaged “in months-long, good-faith discussions” over CHI St. Vincent and CommonSpirit’s requested reimbursement increase.

“Those discussions are continuing,” the insurer told Becker’s Aug. 27.

Members with eligible conditions will still be able to access their providers at in-network rates via temporary continuity of care coverage.

Arkansas BCBS said the update would affect most members, except for those with Medicare supplement plans.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
