MedAptus, Mingle Analytics partner to enhance reimbursement process

MedAptus, a healthcare technology company based in Boston, partnered with Mingle Analytics, an industry leader in Medicare quality reporting, to help hospitals achieve Medicare reimbursement bonuses and avoid penalties under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act’s Merit-based Incentive Payment System.

Under MIPS, physicians will earn payment adjustments based on performance in four categories linked to quality and value. Payment adjustments in the first year will be neutral, positive or negative up to 4 percent. This will grow to 9 percent by 2022.

MedAptus will use Mingle Analytics’ MIPS Solutions to facilitate the new reporting requirements by providing three levels of service tailored to specific needs that increase the probability of earning bonuses and decrease the probability of penalties.

“Hospitals can definitely improve their revenue through proper reporting. But get it wrong and the reverse is true — they could see a significant hit to their bottom line. As a result, we did an extensive search to align ourselves with an organization who could help our customers navigate through these complicated reporting requirements” MedAptus CEO Gene Schneider said in the press release.
