The campaign, called “YOU ARE … The Campaign for Mayo Clinic,” began Jan. 1, 2010, and ended Dec. 31, 2017, with a $3 billion goal. After Mayo reached that goal a year early, the system raised another $634 million in the final year of its campaign, marking the first time it netted more than $600 million during a single year of fundraising.

Mayo’s campaign focused on “strengthening and advancing Mayo’s strategic priorities in patient care, research and education,” according to the health system. The gifts funded various projects at Mayo, including more clinical trials and surgeries, as well as 500,000-plus square feet of expansions completed or planned for Mayo’s campuses in Arizona, Florida and Minnesota.
