In 2012, Massachusetts passed a law to decrease healthcare costs. Healthcare costs in the Commonwealth, however, remain some of the most expensive in the country, increasing more than 4 percent each year in 2014 and 2015. The initial law’s goal was to keep healthcare cost growth to 3.6 percent.

While details of the next legislation were not discussed, seven state senators will go to Minnesota to research its health system and possibly other states in the future. Experts denote Minnesota as having high-quality and cost-efficient healthcare, according to the report.
