The announcement goes hand-in-hand with MemorialCare’s agreement to purchase certain assets of Universal Care, a health plan with members throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Barry Arbuckle, PhD, president and CEO of the six-hospital MemorialCare, said in a news release the Universal Care purchase and health plan license will “further our role in population health management, accountable care, medical homes, information technology, best-practice medicine and other elements of health reform.”
