The plan had been to raise $150 million over several years to help with projects such as a 265,000-square-foot patient tower, which is scheduled to open in 2024 with 96 private rooms and a focus on cardiac care. The campaign raised $179 million in total.
Part of the funds will also go toward nursing scholarships and other educational and research projects.
Maine Medical Center is the state’s largest hospital with 700 licensed beds. More details on the campaign can be found here.
