The donation will support the hospital’s $525 million expansion project that will create 128 private rooms, add 225 parking spaces and renovate the lobby. The project is expected to wrap up in 2022.

To honor the donors, the new lobby will be named after Mr. Gorman, who died in 2015.

Mr. Gorman served as a member of the Maine Hospital Board from 1985 to 1994.
