Phase one of the hospital’s consolidation to its Fore River Parkway campus was completed in 2008, and state approval of the final certificate of need application is expected to take four to six months.

“On the heels of celebrating 100 years serving the community, this crucial next step will help ensure that we deliver the next century of care in a facility that provides convenient access to more of our services in one location,” Mercy Hospital President Charlie Therrien said in a news release. “The support that we’ve received from the community in our efforts to make this move has been humbling. We’re excited to enter this next phase so that we can get shovels in the ground.”
