Aetna requested the restraining order, protesting the state’s selection of three managed care plan groups — Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Amerihealth Mercy of Louisiana and AmeriGROUP Louisiana — to run the “pre-paid coordinated care networks,” the report said. The networks aim to improve healthcare outcomes and save money by coordinating all aspects of care of a Medicaid patient.
The court order comes as the LDHH had started contract negotiations with the selected groups.
