Kindred to close 3 Texas long-term care hospitals, affecting 541 employees

Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare will close three long-term care hospitals in Texas, which together employ 541 people, according to The Houston Business Journal.

The system will close Kindred Hospital Spring in Houston, Kindred Hospital-Dallas and Kindred Hospital-Fort Worth.

The layoffs at each facility will begin mid-March, according to the report. 

Kindred said it was closing the hospitals in Dallas-Fort Worth to consolidate services. It didn’t disclose a reason for closing the Houston location.
