Kettering (Ohio) Health plans to end obstetric services at Beavercreek, Ohio-based Soin Medical Center and transition them to Kettering (Ohio) Health Main Campus and Kettering Health Washington Township in Dayton, according to an Oct. 20 statement shared with Becker’s.
The system pointed to national and regional trends of birthing rate declines as primary drivers of the consolidation.
“There are employment opportunities throughout our system, and our goal is that all impacted employees continue to be part of the Kettering Health team,” the statement said. “We will be working with each employee individually toward this goal.”
Amid the consolidation, Kettering is investing in Soin Medical Center expansions, upgrades to its Kettering Health Green Memorial facility and physician access prioritization through its new Xenia medical office, the statement said.
Becker’s has followed up with Kettering Health regarding the number of employees affected by the consolidation and will update this story should more information become available.
