Here are three things to know about Kermit’s platform.

1. The platform is designed to help hospitals optimize physician preference items spend.

2. Through the platform, Kermit provides surgeons, supply chain managers and executives with real-time data on implantable medical device transactions, according to a news release.

3. Kermit said the cloud-based application captures and centralizes billing information, and automatically checks every vendor bill to ensure contract pricing is honored and hospitals are paying the right amount for PPI.

4. Richard Palarea, CEO and co-founder of Kermit, spoke positively of the analytics platform. “The costs of medical device implants are out of control, and the market was ripe for a solution that would fix a broken model…,” he said in a prepared statement. “If we had used traditional development methods, we never could have built an application with the speed, cost-effectiveness and breadth of features we did using Mendix.”
