Under the contract, McKesson will deliver various services and capabilities to the group, including clinical documentation assistance, coding, claims management, denial management, business analytics, benchmarking and regulatory compliance, according to a news release.
Sasan Payvar, MD, president of Joliet Radiological, cited McKesson’s reputation among radiology groups in Illinois, as well as its depth of resources, when discussing why McKesson was chosen.
“We are particularly enthusiastic about McKesson’s ability to provide benchmarking information in key areas like reimbursement levels, compensation and RVUs [relative value units],” he said in a prepared statement. “Being able to make accurate comparisons in these and other categories from a local, regional and national standpoint will help us keep pace with the market and solidify our competitive position.”
