Novant Health, Aetna Strike Multi-Year Contract

Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health and health insurer Aetna have reached a multi-year contract, ensuring Novant’s 13 hospitals and several clinics stay within Aetna’s network.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Novant and Aetna included a new value-based structure for Novant’s certified patient-centered medical homes. The PCMH practices will receive a care management fee for providing more coordinated care to members, and extra compensation can be attained by meeting quality and cost efficiency targets.
