Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health is exiting Trinsic, a Colorado clinically integrated network it operates as a joint venture with Aurora, Colo.-based UCHealth, with UCHealth taking over the network after Dec. 7, according to a WARN notice Intermountain filed Oct. 2 with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.
The notice says Trinsic’s Broomfield, Colo., operating unit will close Dec. 4 and 117 employees will be affected, with first separations expected Dec. 9. Affected roles include 29 nurse care managers, 24 clinical care coordinators and 14 nonclinical care coordinators.
Intermountain said in the notice that it expects most, if not all, Trinsic employees who live and work in Colorado will have the opportunity to keep working for Trinsic, subject to UCHealth’s hiring decisions. Employees who live and work outside Colorado may not have the same opportunity.
“Most impacted employees are expected to transition to employment with UCHealth in December, subject to completion of UCHealth’s standard employment processes,” Intermountain said in a statement to Becker’s. The system said it issued the notices consistent with federal and state law, which apply when employment with one organization is expected to end as part of a business transition.
UCHealth said in a statement to Becker’s that it expects most Trinsic employees to move to UCHealth, though some may choose to stay at Intermountain in different roles.
The two systems formed Trinsic in 2023 by combining UCHealth’s Coordinated Care of Colorado and Intermountain’s Colorado Quality Care Network. The network represents more than 900 primary care physicians, according to its website.
