Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System is partnering with Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Rehabilitation to operate a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital under construction in Howard, Wis.
The Hospital Sisters Health System | Rehabilitation Hospital will be located near HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center, where construction is underway on a new inpatient tower, according to a Jan. 12 news release.
The freestanding facility will include the only regional traumatic brain injury unit in Northeast Wisconsin, along with multidisciplinary therapy gymnasiums, a specialized “activities of daily living” suite and outdoor courtyards.
The new facility will double the inpatient rehabilitation capacity currently available at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, according to the release. That unit will be repurposed to support acute care demand.
Lifepoint Rehabilitation, an operating division of Lifepoint Health, will manage day-to-day operations. The hospital is expected to open later in 2026.
