The hospital originally intended to close in November and move patient care and medical education programs to nearby Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, but too many employees began leaving the hospital while partnerships with other hospitals were being negotiated, according to the report.
Its emergency department will operate out of a nearby clinic while an urgent care center is constructed and operational later this year.
