HHS releases $450M to rural healthcare providers

HHS released $450 million in payments to rural healthcare providers to address financial challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic on May 10, according to the American Hospital Association.

The payments are from the American Rescue Plan Act, which granted $8.5 billion in relief payments to those who served rural communities. 

HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration began distributing payments from the American Rescue Plan in November.
