HFMA president and CEO to retire

Healthcare Financial Management Association President and CEO Joseph Fifer announced his plans to retire to staff and association members on July 13.

Mr. Fifer’s retirement is effective June 1, 2023, according to a press release. He has been president and CEO of the Chicago-based association since June 2012. He said he is grateful for the opportunity to serve. 

“I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the brightest and most dedicated people in this field. During the next year, I look forward to advancing our strategic priorities and planning for a seamless transition,” Mr. Fifer said.

During his tenure, association membership grew from 37,000 to more than 89,000.

With the announcement, the association will begin its search for a successor.
