The grants will advance phase one of the Two Georgias Initiative. Each community health partnership that received a grant will design a plan to expand access to healthcare or improve health equity for rural patients.
“No one should be denied access to quality healthcare because of their zip code or place of residence,” Gary D. Nelson, PhD, president of the Healthcare Georgia Foundation told the Post Searchlight. “We believe this Initiative provides our rural residents with the opportunity to benefit from the leadership of these 11 rural collaboratives as they craft innovative solutions to eliminate health disparities and promote economic development in their communities.”
