The new outlook reflected weaker-than-anticipated earnings for GBMC, with a $42 million operating loss through the 11 months ending May 31, Fitch said.

Fitch does expect some operating improvement in the system whose flagship facility is a 374-bed acute care hospital serving much of suburban Baltimore. The medical center employs 225 physicians.
