Grady Health System Ordered to Pay $20M for Medicaid Overpayments

Grady Health System in Atlanta, Ga., has been ordered to pay $20 million to the state for overpayments by Medicaid made to the facility from 2004-2005, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Grady has experienced financial troubles in recent years, and expects to lose $37 million this year.

The additional payments are considered a “body blow” to the facility, according to Grady CEO Michael Young in the report.
