GeBBS Healthcare Solutions, a revenue cycle management and health information management services provider in Marina del Rey, Calif., has a new professional fee evaluation and management leveling calculator tool.
The company said in a news release the HIPAA-compliant tool is available to the HIM community "in appreciation for their service to the healthcare industry." They added the tool aims to help healthcare providers and physicians achieve proper reimbursement and decrease the risk of compliance audits amid the complexities of E/M coding.
According to GHS, the tool's capabilities include "ability to print findings to PDF format" and "access to education and webinars," among others.
"E/M leveling is important; too many physicians are inappropriately assigning E/M codes, mainly because they do not understand the complex rules. An improved working knowledge of E/M coding and comprehensive reference tool is the best way to ensure optimal coding compliance," said Cara Friederich, GeBBS' director of coding and consulting services.
