Health systems across the country are closely monitoring commodity prices as they look to save money. Gasoline prices grew by 17.5 percent for the last 12 months ending in October, according to the latest Consumer Price Index Report.
Here are six other commodity prices that grew by double digits, according to the Nov. 10 U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics news release:
- Food at home: 12.4 percent
- Energy commodities: 19.3 percent
- Fuel oil: 68.5 percent
- Electricity: 14.1 percent
- Utility piped gas services: 20 percent
- Transportation services: 15.2 percent
