Franciscan to outsource 61 jobs to health IT company

Franciscan’s information services department currently comprises nearly 500 full-time employees. The 61 affected workers will be offered positions with R4 Solutions, a Cupertino, Calif.-based managed services provider specializing in healthcare information services, according to the health system. They will continue to work on Franciscan projects.

“Healthcare systems across the country are still recovering from the human resource and financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Franciscan Alliance is no exception,” Charles Wagner, senior vice president of information services and CIO at Franciscan, said in a statement shared with Becker’s. “We believe this decision provides the best solution for our healthcare ministry while ensuring full-time continued employment for the rebadged employees.”

Franciscan infomed the state of its decision in a July 10 WARN notice filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
