Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based Select Medical Corp. operates the hospital and announced the closure in a June 13 letter to the Texas Workforce Commission. The letter did not explain why the hospital will close, but said the shut down will be done with the “least possible disruption” to patients and hospital employees, according to the report.
Operating more than 1,400 healthcare facilities, Select Medical is one of the largest operators of specialty hospitals, outpatient rehabilitation clinics and occupational health centers in the U.S. Regency Hospital is one of more than 100 long-term acute care hospitals within Select Medical’s network.
