For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Sept. 15-19

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stocks increase last week.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp.’s shares rose by 2.83 percent, and Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America saw a 2.68 percent increase. King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services also saw its shares go up by 1.99 percent.

Additionally, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems’ shares increased by 1.63 percent, while Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals saw a 0.09 percent rise.

•    Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $57.45 per share (up 1.63 percent)

•    Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $73.48 per share (up 2.68 percent)

•    LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $73.85 per share (up 0.09 percent)

•    Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $63.27 per share (up 2.83 percent)

•    Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $113.93 per share (up 1.99 percent)
