For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Oct. 8-12

Four of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw the greatest decrease in share price at 8.4 percent.

Here's how the five operators stacked up as of Oct. 12:

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $2.62 per share (down 6.4 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $133.86 per share (down 3.7 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $64.40 per share (up 0.02 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $25.39 per share (down 8.4 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $122.54 per share (down 2.2 percent)
