For-profit hospital stock report: Week of May 9-13

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the largest decrease in share price, with shares falling 15.9 percent last week.

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services saw its share price fall 0.2 percent last week, the least of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators' stock prices stacked up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $12.50 per share (down 15.9 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $77.92 per share (down 3.6 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $65.62 per share (down 0.8 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $28.43 per share (down 9.5 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $133.61 per share (down 0.2 percent)
