For-profit hospital stock report: Week of July 20-24

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Down 3.81 percent last week, shares of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems fell most of any of the for-profit hospital operators’ shares. 

Here is how the five operators stack up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $58.31 per share (down 3.81 percent).
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $92.83 per share (down 0.44 percent).
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $83.91 per share (down 1.96 percent).
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $57.62 per share (down 1.76 percent).
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $141.04 per share (down 0.13 percent).
