For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Jan. 26-30

Four of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stocks fall last week.

Shares of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems were down 4.10 percent last week, the most of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Shares of Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America rose 3.13 percent last week.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $47.08 per share (down 1.92 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $70.80 per share (up 3.13 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $65.21 per share (down 4.10 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $42.27 per share (down 3.65 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $102.53 per share (down 3.75 percent)
