For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Jan. 12-16

All five of the major for-profit hospital operators saw their stocks fall last week.

Shares of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems were down 9.12 percent last week, the most of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $50.21 per share (down 9.12 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $69.88 per share (down 4.37 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $69.68 per share (down 6.05 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $44.98 per share (down 7.33 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $108.22 per share (down 4.20 percent)
