For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Feb. 20-24

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the largest increase in share price, with shares rising 35.1 percent.

Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health saw its share price rise 1.8 percent, the least of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators stacked up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $9.32 per share (up 35.1 percent)
  • HCA Holdings (Nashville, Tenn.): $87.07 per share (up 2.9 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $64.10 per share (up 1.8 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $21.99 per share (up 13.5 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $125.98 per share (up 3.1 percent)
