For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Dec. 1-5

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices increase last week.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. saw its share price increase by 7.66 percent to $51.75 per share, which was the most significant increase of any of the hospital operators last week.

Also experiencing significant growth in its stock price, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems’ shares were up 6.84 percent last week.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $50.30 per share (up 6.84 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $74.00 per share (up 6.14 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $71.78 per share (up 3.64 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $51.75 per share (up 7.66 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $107.49 per share (up 3.41 percent)
