For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Aug. 29-Sept. 2

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the largest increase in share price, with shares rising 6.8 percent.

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services saw its share price rise 1 percent, the least of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators' stock prices stacked up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $10.75 per share (up 6.8 percent)
  • HCA Holdings (Nashville, Tenn.): $76.51 per share (up 3.1 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $57.73 per share (up 3.9 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $24.20 per share (up 4.2 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $120.70 per share (up 1 percent)
