For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Aug. 25-29, 2014

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stocks rise leading up to the holiday weekend.

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems experienced the biggest increase: 4.1 percent. King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services' shares rose by 1.27 percent, while Tenet Healthcare Corp., based in Dallas, saw its stock go up by 0.97 percent.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America and Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals saw increases of 0.81 percent and 0.29 percent, respectively.

•    Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $54.28 per share (up 4.1 percent)

•    Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $69.82 per share (up 0.81 percent)

•    LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $74.80 per share (up 0.29 percent)

•    Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $61.18 per share (up 0.97 percent)

•    Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $114.44 per share (up 1.27 percent)
