For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Aug. 24-28

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America saw the largest increase in share price, with shares up 3.88 percent to $88.82 per share.

Here is how the five operators stack up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $54.97 per share (down 1.26 percent).
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $88.82 per share (up 3.88 percent).
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $80.09 per share (up 0.26 percent).
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $50.32 per share (up 2.23 percent).
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $140.37 per share (down 0.23 percent).
