For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Aug. 17-21

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America saw the largest decrease in share price, with shares down 6.64 percent to $85.50 per share.

Here is how the five operators stack up.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $55.67 per share (down 4.33 percent).
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $85.50 per share (down 6.64 percent).
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $79.88 per share (down 2.41 percent).
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $49.22 per share (down 5.67 percent).
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $140.69 per share (down 1.61 percent).
