For-profit hospital stock report: Week of March 19-23

Four of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health saw the greatest decrease in share price at 5.6 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up as of March 23.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $4.29 per share (down 1.2 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $98.78 per share (down 3.9 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $48.25 per share (down 5.6 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $24.79 per share (up 0.6 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $121.21 per share (down 1.9 percent)
