Florida Health Care Coalition taps Remedy Partners for bundled payment programs

Remedy Partners, a Darien, Conn.-based bundled payment company, partnered with Florida Health Care Coalition, a nonprofit group of employers that advocates for healthcare quality issues on behalf of more than two million lives in the state.

Through the partnership, coalition members will receive assistance in creating, administering and implementing bundled payment programs, officials said. The program will start with cardiac bundles in Orlando and expand in the future.

FLHCC members with self-insured employers and unions will have immediate access to services that are part of the collaboration.

"The timing for an employer-led bundled payment program is excellent as there is an immediate opportunity to build off the demonstrated success of Medicare's Bundled Payment for Care Improvement initiative," Chris Garcia, CEO of Remedy Partners, said. "Organizing and financing healthcare around a patient's episode of care is proven to work. And, while these payment arrangements are improving outcomes for patients and reducing costs for payers, success is achieved without increasing mortality rates."
