Republican state Sen. Larry Crowder voted against his party in the Democrat-controlled legislature, saying rural hospitals in his district of San Luis Valley needed the additional Medicaid revenue to continue treating the uninsured. Colorado hospitals have advocated in favor of the bill, according to the report.
