Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel announces $78M expansion project

Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel (Fla.) has announced it will kick off a $78 million expansion and renovation project this year that will involve adding three floors and a new wing.

The hospital — built in 2012 with 83 inpatient rooms, 18 emergency rooms and five operating rooms — will add on nearly 112,000 square feet of new space and will renovate roughly 10,800 square feet of existing space.

The project will add additional inpatient rooms, emergency rooms, surgical suites and services, recovery and observation rooms, a heart catheterization lab and shelled space for future growth. The new wing planned is three stories and will connect the center and south wings of the hospital.

Construction is slated to begin this summer and a groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for August 5. The expansion is expected to open at the end of 2016.
