On Dec. 6, the same day the organizations’ contract was slated to expire, Florida Blue reached an agreement with Health First to allow its members access to Health First hospitals and physician groups at in-network prices.
In late November, news reports first brought to light the dispute between Florida Blue and Health First. Florida Blue accused Health First of seeking unsustainable rate increases, while Health First said Florida Blue was profit-driven.
