Gov. Scott said the additional regulation is needed to control unfairly high hospital prices, according to the report.
“With our proposed reforms, patients who believe their hospital bills are unconscionably high will have the ability to ask for a third-party review of their charges,” Gov. Scott said in a statement.
Gov. Scott said requiring hospitals to post their prices as well as their annual tax filings online would help hold publicly funded and government-owned hospitals to the same financial disclosure standards.
