Florida billionaires partner with nonprofit to relieve $264M in medical debt

The foundation of Florida billionaires Daniel and Jane Och partnered with RIP Medical Debt to relieve $264 million in medical debt for Miami-Dade County residents, the Miami Herald reported July 27.

The relief funds will forgive medical bills of 125,611 county residents. 

Nine percent of Miami-Dade County residents have medical debt, according to the report.
