Fitch upgrades University of Vermont Medical Center to ‘A+’

Fitch Ratings upgraded Burlington-based University of Vermont Medical Center to “A+” from “A-.”

Concurrently Fitch assigned its “A+” issuer default rating to the medical center.

The upgrade and assignment are based on several factors, including the medical center’s favorable payer mix, dominant market share and healthy operating performance.

The outlook is revised to positive from stable.
