Fitch upgraded Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System’s rating to “A+” from “A.”
The upgrade reflects the system’s very strong and consistent operating profitability over the past several years as it managed the completion of an expansion project, Fitch said in a June 26 report. The multi-story tower expansion project was completed in February and expanded Northeast Georgia’s surgical capacity and added an additional 144 beds (96 at opening).
The rating also reflects the system’s leading market position in a growing service area, Fitch said.
Northeast Georgia Health System has a stable outlook at its new rating.
