Fitch upgrades Erlanger Health System’s rating to ‘BBB+’

Fitch Ratings has upgraded the rating to “BBB+” from “BBB” on Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System’s $149 million of series 2014A hospital revenue and refunding bonds.

The rating upgrade is based on a number of factors, including EHS’ improvement in operating performance in fiscal year 2015, manageable debt burden and solid position as the only academic medical center in the region.

The outlook is stable.
