Fitch assigns 'A-' to UMass Memorial Health Care's bonds

Fitch Ratings has assigned an "A-" rating to Worcester-based UMass Memorial Health Care's 2016I revenue bonds, affecting $177 million.

The rating assignment is based on several factors, including UMMHC's improved operating results and unique market position due to its proximity to Worcester-based University of Massachusetts Medical School, for which UMass Memorial Medical Center serves as the primary teaching facility.

The outlook is stable.
