Fitch assigns ‘A+’ rating to Baystate Medical Center

Fitch Ratings assigned its “A+” issuer default rating to Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Medical Center.

Concurrently, Fitch affirmed its “A+” rating on the medical center’s outstanding bonds, affecting $245 million of debt.

The assignment and affirmation are based on several factors, including Baystate’s dominant market share, improving financial performance and favorable adjusted leverage metrics.

The outlook is stable.
